Colonial One A shared high-performance computing cluster for research needs that use high-performance computing for data analysis. TBD
Capital Area Advanced Research & Education Network (CAAREN) An initiative designed to build a high-performance research and education infrastructure serving the Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia areas. CAAREN facilitates world-class research, education and knowledge sharing in the nation’s capital. FRESCO FRESCO is a high performance virtual environment that provides virtual machines with direct access to a 100GB network infrastructure. TBD

 

Research and Service Development

Service Description Fee
Advanced Engineering & Support Services Consulting services include evaluation and recommendation, provisioning, integration, management, and support.

Labor Hourly Rate:

  • Communications & Technology Support Services (Network and Security Systems): $40.00
  • University Web & Identity Services (Web Services): $70.00
  • System Engineering Services (Virtual, Infrastructure, Platform and Enterprise Systems): $53.00
Computer Support The Division of Information Technology (IT) offers enhanced computer support services for faculty & staff workstations on a contractual basis for departments, units or divisions ensuring a stable, and reliable computing environment.   TBD
Service Agreement Administration and Management

Assist university departments in understanding information technology needs, prioritization of projects, facilitation of high-prioirty customer service issues, continual process and service improvement and regularly scheduled meetings to communicate operational status, challenges and successes.

Support Standards This service description outlines support standards that apply to most of the Division of Information Technology (IT) services.  No fee
Technology Support The Division of Information Technology Support Center (ITSC) provides call center and helpdesk services to all faculty and staff on supported systems, technologies and services.  TBD

Shared Research Infrastructure

Data Storage Data storage is provided on Division of IT supported servers. TBD
Research Managed Server Service A dedicated virtual server environment that will support a group of researchers and support staff associated with a project, this environment will be used to store and analyze research data.

Base system: $211.77 per month.
Consists of:

  • Base Cost (up to 90VM): $14.13 per year
  • vCPU: $32.30 per year
  • GB of RAM: $6.23 per year
  • GB of Storage: $0.63 per year

Regulated Environments & Data Protection

Service Description Fee
Data Management Plan Tool GW Libraries provides access to the DMPTool (Data Management Plan Tool), an online application that provides step-by-step guidance to help prepare data management plans that meet specific funding requirements.  No fee
Data Management Support Services Data Management Template, resources for data management support, data management plan development tools, resources on writing a data management plan, templates, outlines, worksheets and tutorials.  No fee
Risk Assessment GW departments and projects can request or be asked to undergo a risk assessment for their information resources. $6,600.00 per instance

Service Description Cost
Colonial Connect Colonial Connect allows faculty and staff to communicate with each other across campuses, offices, residence halls and off-campus locations through chat, voice, video and web conferencing. $499.20 per year, additional $220 per desktop hard phone
GW Website GW websites are created with GW Drupal, a central content management system. The system supports multiple types of content with a customizable layout, so that websites can be customized accordingly with needs. TBD
High Speed Data Network Port This service provides Ethernet and Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity to the university’s network, which provides access to the commercial internet and research networks. Service is provided at 100Mbps or 1,000Mbps and is delivered on multimode fiber or single mode fiber. Standard Data Network Port This service provides Ethernet and Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity to the university’s network, which provides access to the commercial Internet and research networks. Service is provided at 10Mbps or 100Mbps and is generally delivered on multimode fiber.  TBD
Network Security The Division of IT provides firewall services to help secure department networks and to ensure compliance with campus cyber safety policies. No fee
TouchNet Marketplace Touchnet Marketplace is a comprehensive framework for eCommerce. Departments, campus organizations and other campus merchants can use TouchNet Marketplace to easily create, manage and operate online storefronts, registration sites and secure payment pages. No fee
Wireless Access Point This service provides Wireless Access (802.11g) Ethernet and Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity to the University’s network, which provides access to the commercial internet and research networks.  TBD
