Colonial Connect is a state-of-the-art unified communications system allowing faculty and staff to communicate with each other across campuses, offices, residence halls and off-campus locations through chat, voice, video and web conferencing. It combines chat, voice, video and web conferencing features into an easy-to-use toolkit with a common directory. Colonial Connect also includes apps for a wide array of mobile devices, allowing users to collaborate from anywhere in real-time.

WebEx
WebEx is a collaborative meeting tool that allows for real-time meeting and sharing computer content over the web. Features include multi-point video conferencing and desktop share to help facilitate online meetings or teach a class. Voicemail
In order to access your voicemail, press the voicemail button, or dial 4-4000 for Foggy Bottom users and 3-4000 for Virginia Science and Technology Campus users. Colonial Connect also sends received voicemails directly to your email address. You can then listen to your voicemail directly from your email inbox.

Conferencing
Colonial Connect Conferencing allows for eight party conference calls, with a dial-in number and code available upon request.
Mobile (Single Number Reach)
Single number reach is available through Colonial Connect Mobile. With this feature, your office extension will ring on your mobile device, allowing you to answer a call on the device of your choice.
Set up single number reach at http://go.gwu.edu/selfservice using your UserID and corresponding password. You can use this site to have your phone or Jabber line ring to your local cell phone number.
eFax
eFax gives you the ability to fax from your computer without access to a physical fax machine. Using an existing fax number, you can send and receive faxes through the Colonial Connect eFax portal, with the ability to leverage Adobe PDF digital signature functionality. In addition, faxes can be received via email. Colonial Connect eFax supports a paperless office and reduces the number of hard-copy documents that may contain sensitive material.

Desktop Phone
Phone features include the ability to place calls on hold, call waiting, ad-hoc conferencing, phone directory, transfer capabilities, call history, voicemail, video calls and extension mobility. The standard video desktop phones (models 8845 and 8945) offer video capability as an added feature. Extension mobility allows users to configure any Colonial Connect Standard Video or Multi-Line phone as their own, on a temporary basis, by logging into that phone. Once a user logs in, the phone adopts the individual user’s default device profile information, including line numbers, speed dials, service links and other user-specific properties of a phone. Basic, Multi-Line and Conference phone options are also available.
GWireless
GWireless is a secure wireless network that uses an authentication method that works with a variety of computers, Apple iOS mobile devices and a variety of Android devices. GWireless automatically connects devices to the Internet. Once users are connected, they will not have to log in to the system again. GW community members may log into GWireless using their UserID and corresponding password.
eduroam
eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community, and it allows students from member institutions to connect to the Internet across campus and when visiting other participating institutions using their UserID followed by "@gwu.edu" and corresponding password. GWmail is the University's email system for faculty and staff. GWmail features enhanced storage capabilities and access to GWCalendar. You may access GWmail by visiting the myGW Portal, selecting "email" on the left menu and then under "Staff and Faculty", selecting "Go to GWmail". Log in with your UserID and corresponding password.
GW uses two-step authentication in conjunction with GW Google apps (email, calendar, drive, etc.)

Configure GWmail on an iPad or iPhone
The Enterprise Accounting System (EAS) is the system that accounts for all of the University's financial transactions, processes all requests for purchases, and allows users to manage the financial aspects of their sponsored research.
On May 22, 2023, users will have to access EAS using the VMware Horizon Client, and will no longer be able to access via eas.gwu.edu. Selecting the EAS published application in the VMware Horizon Client will take users to the blue login screen where they can log in using their EAS username and password, eliminating an extra login step.

The GWeb Information System, sometimes referred to as Banner or Banner Self Service, allows online access for GW students, faculty, and staff to many GW services.
The GWeb Information System, sometimes referred to as Banner or Banner Self Service, allows online access to GW faculty and staff services, such as viewing tax or job information and paystubs. Faculty and staff are assigned a GWeb account and pin as part of the Human Resources hiring and intake process.
To log into GWeb, you must use your GWid, which is an alphanumeric value used to identify an individual’s records within GW’s administrative systems. Your GWid is the letter G followed by an 8-digit number. You must also use a PIN, which is usually a 6-digit number, to log in to the GWeb Information System. If you have forgotten your GWid, you may submit a GWid retrieval request.

GW’s iBuy+ system provides a one-stop shop for ordering GW's most commonly purchased products (iBuy+ Goods and Services), travel booking (iBuy +Travel Services), P-Card allocation and employee reimbursement (iBuy+ Expense Reporting). All active GW staff members have access to the iBuy+ system, although departmental approvals are necessary before processing through the individual portals are complete.
UKG (formerly Kronos) Workforce Central is GW’s workforce time management system for Time Off and time and attendance tracking. The application allows both regular and student employees to clock in and out through the Time Reporting System (TRS), using phone, PC, or Workforce Central Mobile app to record hours worked and time off taken.
Designated GW faculty and staff have timekeeper responsibilities. Timekeepers are responsible for reviewing, approving and sending time sheets to Payroll Services. Additional Timekeeper responsibilities are listed on Payroll Services' website. To obtain Timekeeper access and training, please request an account through Payroll Services.
GW's Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows remote access to many university systems and resources that are otherwise protected from off-campus access. It does this by creating a "virtual" encrypted channel from your remote location back to GW's network.
In order to access GW's VPN please download the new software, Cisco AnyConnect, and enter in your UserID and corresponding password. Once you have logged in, please select to download the appropriate client. Instructions on how to set up the VPN client on different platforms can be found below.
