For research that relies on high-performance computing (HPC) for data analysis and supercomputing applications, GW has implemented multiple systems.

• The Cerberus cluster supports teaching HPC in the classroom.
• Ideal for a variety of applications, including:
  • Bioinformatics: Efficiently processes large biological data sets.
  • HPC Cloud Class: Supports cloud-based high-performance computing courses.
  • Biochemistry & Medicine: Accelerates research and analysis in biochemical and medical fields.
  • Microbial Genomics: Enhances the study of microbial genomes with high throughput capabilities.

All GW HPC clusters are managed by professional staff in GW Information Technology, with additional support from Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Public Health, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Offices of the Provost and Vice Provost for Research.
