Email & Calendar

GW IT provides Google-based email and calendar services for GW students, faculty, staff and alumni and options for employees to protect their sensitive email messages.

GW provides an email list management service using the L-Soft Listserv product. Listserv provides everything you need to manage all of your opt-in email lists, including email newsletters, announcements, discussion groups and email communities. It is frequently used by faculty and students alike for distributing announcements and holding discussions. List ownership is limited to GW faculty, staff, students and student organizations. Students and student organizations must have faculty or staff sponsorship in order to own mailing lists. All list owners are required to adhere to the GW E-Mail Policy and Acceptable Use Policy for Computing Systems and Services.

GWEmail encryption is a service offered to those members of the GW community who need to secure email in transit, due to the nature of their work or compliance requirements.  Once the service is activated on an account, the sender enters a keyword in the subject line of an email to enable encryption of the message and attachments. The recipients of the email would then receive an email indicating that they have received an encrypted email message. To request access to GWEmail encryption, please complete the GWEmail encryption service request form.
