Antivirus Protection
Get Started
GW IT managed machines should already have antivirus software installed, and it is available in Software Center (Windows OS) and Self Service (macOS).
Features
Antivirus software monitors your computer or device for any malicious software or files. When it detects a potential threat, it takes immediate action, such as quarantining or removing the threat, or notifying the user for further action. Real-time scanning helps protect your computer from viruses, malware, and other malicious software in real-time, ensuring that your system remains safe while you use it.
GW IT recommends the following antivirus protection for personal devices:
- Windows OS: Personal devices should utilize the pre-installed Microsoft Defender Antivirus software.
- macOS: Personal devices should utilize the free versions of Avira Antivirus or Sophos Home software.
