Affiliates are becoming Sponsored Users
As part of the Banner Modernization project, GW IT is implementing a new process for requesting and managing sponsored user accounts. This updated process provides a more centralized approach to access management, making it easier to request, approve, and maintain access throughout the account lifecycle. As part of this change, individuals currently referred to as affiliates will now be known as sponsored users.
An Affiliated University Constituent (AUC) is an individual with a legitimate and verifiable affiliation with GW who is NOT a current student or a member of GW's faculty or staff. AUCs include visiting scholars not paid as employees, select contractors, and friends of the University. They require sponsorship by a paid GW faculty or staff member at the department head/manager level (or higher).
