GW IT will host its first annual data summit on June 10, 2025, in Science and Engineering Hall. This year’s theme, Join GW’s Data Revolution: Analyze, Understand, Act, is designed to inform the GW community about available resources and tools that can help leverage data effectively.

- Data Democratization: Breaking Down the Barriers Panel Discussion
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, the ability to access, analyze, and act upon data is critical to organizational success. Data democratization is the process through which data is made accessible to all users and to ensure that individuals across all levels can engage with data directly, fostering a culture of informed decision-making and data-driven innovation.
Opening remarks from Geneva Henry, Dean of Libraries and Academic Innovation and Vice Provost, Libraries and Information Technology, followed by an interdisciplinary panel that will address the benefits and challenges around data democratization with respect to data security and privacy, AI & machine learning, modern data architecture and data culture.
