How to Claim Your GW Identity
GW's Identity and Access Management (IAM) service helps to create, maintain, and secure your digital identity while at the University. Your identity is comprised of elements that identifies you as a member of the GW community. With IAM, you are able to use your UserID to access the right resources at the right time, request access to resources as needed, and manage certain aspects of your digital identity in a self-service manner.
Your identity is a collection of elements that uniquely identifies you as a member of the GW community.
Your identity includes the following:
With the single sign-on service, GW community members will only need to login one time per web browser, in order to access all of their applications and services that have been transitioned to the new single sign-on functionality.
Learn How-to Use Single Sign-On
GW employs two-step authentication (2SA) to add an additional layer of security for users' identities. This technology leverages something you know, like a password, and something you are/have, like a phone or facial recognition, to confirm that you are who you say you are when accessing GW resources. This makes it more difficult for someone else to log in as your identity.
The MyGW portal provides shortcuts to useful information as well as some services used by the GW community.
The MyApps portal provides shortcuts to most of the services that you have access to, based on your role(s) at the University.
