Changes to Adobe Licensing

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing innovative and cost-effective solutions, GW will be transitioning from Adobe Creative Cloud for the full campus to premium memberships for Adobe Express in July. GW will remain part of a select group of “Adobe Creative Campuses” leading the way in digital competency initiatives to support creative teaching strategies in higher education, but due to a significant price increase, the full campus-wide licensing has been restructured.

Full-time Faculty and Staff will retain access to Acrobat Pro. We will continue to offer the full Creative Cloud licenses to many of our shared computing devices in classrooms and labs. Academic and administrative areas with a need for features that are not provided by Adobe Express Premium will be able to request individual Adobe Creative Cloud licenses.

For GW Community members that have a consistent ongoing academic, research, or business related need for premier applications like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, an individual Adobe Creative Cloud License will be provided and require an annual renewal.  Requests for individual Adobe licenses can be submitted at go.gwu.edu/requestadobecc.
