Scheduled Upgrade to DMZ Firewalls (Perimeter Network) on the Foggy Bottom Campus

GW Information Technology (GWIT) will be performing scheduled upgrades to the DMZ Firewalls on the Foggy Bottom beginning Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 6:00 pm through Monday, August 17, 2020 at 2:00 am. The DMZ is a perimeter network that provides extra security protections of external facing resources at the University. 

 

Impact: The following services will be available during the scheduled firewall maintenance: wired and wireless Internet, GW Email (G Suite), GWAlert, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Blackboard, and GWorld services including Card Access, GWorld Purchases, Parking Access and Mobile ID Access.

 

The following service applications behind these firewalls will incur intermittent outages and/or operate in a degraded state. Upon completion of the scheduled upgrade, these services will need to be revalidated. Please report any issues after the upgrade to [email protected].
