Mass Email Transition to Emma

emailThe Division of Information Technology (IT), along with GW partners, have selected a new service provider for GW’s mass email account. Beginning in July 2017, GW will use Emma for its mass emailing needs, including InfoMail.

Training

Import Mailing Lists

  1. If you currently have mailing lists set up in WhatCounts/Publicaster, upload these lists to Emma prior to July 31, 2017.

    • Information on how to export your mailing list from WhatCounts/Publicaster
    • Mailing lists in WhatCounts/Publicaster will NOT be automatically migrated to Emma. Please use @gwu.edu addresses (as opposed to @email.gwu.edu or @gwmail.gwu.edu) in all uploaded mailing lists.
    • InfoMail segmentation lists from Banner (including “Entire University”, “Faculty/Staff”, “Student List”, etc.) will be automatically migrated into Emma 

WhatCounts/Publicaster will no longer be available as of July 31, 2017. 

If you currently have a WhatCounts/Publicaster account, you will receive an email from the Division of IT to access your Emma account.

  • The subject line will read: Setting up your new email marketing account
  • The email will be from: emmaadmin@gwu.edu via e2ma.net
