As AVP for the Office of the CIO, Jonathan leads the cross-functional IT management capabilities that enable both well-run IT operations (run the business) and innovative, new strategic business contributions (grow the business). Leadership areas of focus include campus engagement and community experience, communications, project planning, budget management, organizational development, vendor relationship management, service delivery and support, IT contracts, and administrative oversight.
Jonathan has more than 20 years of experience in higher education and technology. He is known for his unique ability to lead diverse teams to achieve campus wide strategic initiatives with a customer focused mentality. Prior to his appointment at GW, Jonathan served as AVP of Information Technology at the University of Oklahoma. He led various IT teams including Enterprise Applications, Server Administration, Data Services, Telecommunications, Database Administration, IT Facilities Management, Security Camera Services, Field Operations, Networking, and Support Services. Jonathan also served as the Vice President for Operations and Sr. Director of Information Services at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) before joining the University of Oklahoma. During his eight-year tenure there, his responsibilities included the leadership and oversight for the Construction/Maintenance, Grounds, Housekeeping, and Campus Safety & Security departments in addition to serving as the Sr. Director/CIO for the OSU-OKC technology department.
Jonathan is a graduate of the Disney Leadership Institute in Orlando, Florida. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Mid-America Christian University. He is in his final years as a Ph.D. student in Higher Education Administration and Policy Studies at Oklahoma State University.
