GW Guest Internet: GWconnect

January 12, 2015

As the GW spring semester gets underway, don’t forget to let your visitors and event attendees know about GWconnect, the new Internet wireless connection for GW guests. GWconnect replaced GW_event in December 2014.

What's new?

  • Guests temporarily visiting the university now have the ability to self-register for an account to access GW's secure wireless network, which grants Internet access for 48 hours.
  • Guests sponsored by a member of the GW community now have the ability to register for a sponsored account that, upon approval, grants network access for up to 90 days.

How does it work?

Guests can use their mobile device or laptop to connect to the GWconnect wireless network and will be prompted to register for an account. Upon registering for an account, guests will receive an SMS text or email with account credentials.

Alternatively, a member of the GW community can sponsor a visitor by connecting to the GWconnect wireless network and registering their guests. Sponsored guests can be provided access for more than 48 hours.

Step-by-step connection instructions are available here

If a visitor is unable to receive texts or access email to retrieve the credentials, please contact the IT Support Center for assistance.
