Business Intelligence dashboards and decision centers show interactive visualizations of meaningful data. Find the right information at the right time to make timely, accurate decisions. 

  • Decision Center is used when expected outcome is an integrated, common, authoritative data source for the functional power users to it use to develop most of actual reports and dashboards as a self-service.
  • Dashboard is used when final project outcome is a report and/or visualization. It can either use the data that is already in the data warehouse or require building the additional data infrastructure in the data warehouse.​

Attainment Dashboard

The Attainment Dashboard provides a summary view of fundraising performance by fiscal year. This dashboard allows members of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) to quickly and easily view transactional data by a number of different metrics. Furthermore, this dashboard displays data either in context of Total Attainment or Cash Received by the university on an annual basis. By presenting historical data in a graphical format, department leadership can use previous strategies and events to make better-informed future business decisions. Learn more about the Attainment Dashboard.

Development and Alumni Relations Dashboard

This dashboard shows a summary view of fundraising performance by fiscal year, allowing staff to quickly and easily compare transactional data by a number of different key metrics.

Gift Officer's Dashboard

This dashboard is an interactive tool designed to provide Gift Officers with an intuitive format to manage their portfolio of prospects. As a secondary purpose, this tool allows Gift Officer Managers to review the performance of their team. It also allows the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) analysis team and the Research and Relationship Management (RRM) team to perform data analysis and identify the impact of solicitation strategies. The dashboard presents data in the following three contexts: Portfolio Overview, Contacts, and Proposals. Portfolio Overview provides a summary depiction of general prospect information, such as location, rating level, and lifetime giving. The Contacts context visualizes contact reports between a GW Gift Officer and a prospective donor. Finally, the Proposals contexts provide a performance analysis of proposals for gifts submitted to prospective donors.

Enrolled Veterans Dashboard

This dashboard provides demographics information about enrolled veterans at GW. 

Intended audience: Office of Military & Veteran Student Services

Enrollment Dashboard

The Enrollment Dashboard provides access to GW enrollment statistics by school, level, location (US & International), student demographics and more. Dashboard is used to review and analyses student application trends and status by application terms, as well as to compare cumulative application counts over the same term as the previous year.

The dashboard shows enrollment decision-makers the status of applications as of a date they select. The count of applications is then compared against three historical numbers: applications from the previous year, the average number of applications for the last 4 years, and a target. Users can then assess whether applications are above or below target. User are able to see the year-over-year growth over 5 years.

Manual Registration Dashboard

The Manual Registration Dashboard provides timely insight into manual registrations and report inefficiencies and implications. The dashboard displays information relating to the processing of manual registrations requested via Registration Transaction Forms.

Missing Grades Dashboard

The Missing Grades dashboard displays the total number of unreported grades by Term, College, Department, Subject, Course Number, and Course Reference Number (CRN). Learn more about the Missing Grades Dashboard.

Account Detail Analytics

Dimensionalized finance data allowing power users to slice and dice data all the way from Income Statement/Balance Sheet to journal entry transactions and downloadable into various formats.

Financial Director's Dashboard

This dashboard is an interactive tool that provides key information and metrics on course registration, tuition/fees revenue, compensation, and financial aid data to allow users to manage their budgets more effectively. The data spans multiple years, it is pulled from the university data warehouse, and can be accessed online or on mobile devices.

General Ledger Balance Trend Analytics

The General Ledger Balance Trend Analysis is a visualization that uses General Ledger data from Enterprise Accounting System (EAS). It shows trends for Revenues, Expenditures and Other Changes in Net Assets over the past five Fiscal years. The data is refreshed in the data warehouse daily, is as of the close of the previous business day, can be accessed online or on mobile devices.

Intended audience: General Ledger authorized users, such as Finance Directors, Deans, Finance Analysts, Budget Analysts, and Comptroller’s office

General Ledger Decision Center

The General Ledger Decision Center is an integrated source of General Ledger data that provides access to financial information that spans multiple years and can be consumed in multiple ways (e.g. reports, cubes, dashboards, etc.). Users have the ability to start at high-level summaries (e.g. view balances by Account or Organization) and drill-down to the details of their financial transactions. Data is updated nightly. Procurement Travel Bypass Dashboard

This dashboard provides timely access to help track and analyze travel spending across the university.

Intended audience: Procurement Office

 

Diversity Dashboard

The Diversity Dashboard is an interactive visualization tool that provides key diversity metrics and analytical features across existing constituent groups (Students, Faculty, Staff, etc.). The Diversity Dashboard provides the Gender and Ethnicity composition by Academic Year for the following groups:

  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • Enrolled students
  • Students who have applied, have been admitted and matriculated

Intended audience: Executive Leadership and Diversity support staff and Deans

Human Resources Decision Center

The Human Resources Decision Center is an integrated source of Human Resources data that provides easy to use information that spans multiple years and can be consumed in multiple ways (Reports, Cubes, Dashboards, etc.)

Intended audience: HR Information Systems (HRIS) and GW HR Decision Makers

Dean's Dashboard

The Dean’s Dashboard is a collection of several high-level metrics from different business areas across the University (e.g. Enrollment, Research, Finance, HR, Fund Raising).  Subscribers receive it via email at the beginning of every week containing the most current data in the data warehouse.

Intended Audience: Deans and their staff and finance directors

Division Dashboard

The Division Dashboard is similar to the Dean’s Dashboard except that it does not include metrics for the academic side. It only includes Research, Finance, HR, and Fundraising. Subscribers receive it via email at the beginning of every week containing the most current data in the data warehouse.

Intended Audience: Division heads, their staff and finance directors

Executive Level Awards Dashboard

This dashboard provides a high-level view of research activity at GW. Using the same data that Principal Investigators (PI) use in the PI Dashboard, this dashboard provides an aggregated view of expenditures and indirect costs generated by different colleges across the University. Learn more about the Executive Level Awards Dashboard.

Principal Investigator's Dashboard

This award-winning dashboard uses a secure, online tool used to access an award’s financial and personnel information at both summarized and detailed level; easily view all awards at once, extract data and run reports; critical award status alerts; analyze monthly run rate; labor effort reporting and more. Learn more about the PI Dashboard.

First Destination Visualization

The First Destination Visualization gives students, parents, alumni, employers and others an in-depth view of the post-graduate success of the classes of 2014 and 2015. The interactive, virtual visualization offers a detailed look at the results of the annual First Destination survey, which highlights the activities of the most recent GW graduates during the first six months after commencement.

Residence Hall Availability and Rates

The Residence Hall Availability and Rates dashboard provides interactive information on housing availability for GW students by first year, second and third year, fourth year and Greek housing. Filter results by building, room type, semester rate and yearly rate.

Division of IT Change Management Dashboard

The Division of IT Change Management dashboard uses data brought into the data warehouse from the Remedy system to help analyze the impact of changes to IT’s infrastructure and of service disruptions to Division of IT’s services.

Office of Safety and Security Dashboard

The Office of Safety and Security dashboard provides interactive information about crime location and crime trends.

Online Ad Effectiveness Dashboard

The Online Ad Effectiveness Dashboard provides information about the performance of GW campaigns.
