This event will be moderated by GW IT - Information Security and is co-sponsored by GW's College of Professional Studies.

Threat actors, even including nation states, love to use freely and commercially available tools to meet their objectives. Why create something new, when you can use something that works, evades detection, and obscures attribution?

Join Michael Sikorski from Unit 42 at Palo Alto Networks for a discussion on the research, malware analysis, and the industry response to this work. We’ll also discuss the endless industry ethical debate about the availability of these tools, why attackers love them, and what we can do about it.

Adversarial Deception: How to Describe, Understand & Counter Disinformation

This event is sponsered by GW Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management (CSIM) Master's Program

During peacetime and war, disinformation and misinformation have been used to sway public sentiment, impact the outcome of elections, and distort narratives regarding conflict and global health.

Given advances in technology and the reach of social media, disinformation can lead to security issues at an unprecedented scale. In democratic societies, disinformation can be used to erode public faith in its governing institutions and is a serious threat to U.S. national security today.

Join GW's Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management (CSIM) Master's Program in a conversation with Pablo Breuer about this critical issue.
