The best defense against threats to your computer is a good offense.  Please utilize the following tools and tips to keep your computer’s defenses up to speed.


- Keep up to date with all GW information security policies.


- Keep your system updated.


- Install the provided anti-virus software.


- Keep updated on the latest security techniques and top threats posed to users by visiting the

  US Computer Emergency Readiness Team's (CERT) alerts, updates, and advisory websites. 


- Use a firewall to prevent access to your computer.


- Always be cautious about opening unknown or strange email attachments, installing free

  "helper" software and downloading anything from an unknown source.
