NetIDs

Your GW NetID, which serves as your electronic identification on campus, is the first step in your connection to the systems, services and applications that enhance your experience at the university.

What is a NetID?
A NetID is a single username with a corresponding password that provides access to the myGW Portal, GW's wireless networks, the  GW e-mail and calendar systems, Blackboard and other important systems.  You can also use your NetID to request personal web (ACAD) or research space or access computer labs across campus.

Your NetID is the portion of your GW e-mail address that precedes the "@" symbol.  For example, if you create a NetID of janedoe, your GW e-mail address will be janedoe@gwu.edu (or janedoe@email.gwu.edu) if you are a faculty or staff member or janedoe@gwmail.gwu.edu if you are a student or alumnus.
